The cabin barn

Brand new this year - just completed - is our unique and fantastic "Hyttelåve". Gartnerfuglen Arkitektkontor has played with the contrasts between indoor/outdoor spaces, everyday life and parties, versatility and user-friendliness.

Here we have made 5 "Compact Living" modules, which we call Cabin Modules. They stand on wheels/rails, which makes them unique and can be pushed partially out of the barn or completely into the barn. In this way, we have taken into account the historical character of Furuholmen, and can easily slide all the cabins into the barn and slide the driving gates, so that the barn looks as it always has. The contents have thus changed drastically from the time when timber was floated here, but the appearance can still look as it always has.

This also makes the common areas inside the barn exciting and different. Here we can offer 5 cabins, all with private bathroom and summer kitchen outside and dormitory kitchen inside, all cabins can accommodate up to 5 guests (2 single beds + family bunk bed), all cabins have their own sheltered "patio - inside".

We also have a large "banquet hall" with room for about 70-80 guests at most. There is also a fireplace lounge with a great view straight out towards Glomma. There is room for about 25 guests. At the end of the barn is the large kitchen, which also has seating for about 30 guests. Here you can hold courses, parties, meetings or lectures. Finally, you can also use a fairly large meeting room in the "loft" above the large kitchen. There is room for 10-15 people. Suitable for meetings and the like.

The entire barn has good WiFi coverage, and there is a big screen in both the kitchen and the fireplace room. This is definitely a building unlike anything you've experienced before.

The chairman's house

Furuholmen was once one of Glomma's largest timber floatation plants, with over 450 employees. Now you can rent "Formannshuset" and enjoy a weekend or a whole week in idyllic surroundings. Peace of mind and peace of mind are almost guaranteed.

The house is about 140 square meters of living space and just over 210 square meters if you include the basement. There are 8 beds, large living room, large terrace, great kitchen and bathroom, parking outside the door and direct access to the water. Fishing trip, vacation trip, company trip, boys' trip, girls' trip. Welcome to this place.

Log cabin

Traditional log cabin with fantastic views and tranquillity in the forest. There are beautiful views over Glomma and Furuholmen. The cabin has a fireplace and wood-burning stove, sleeping couch, UTE-DO, electricity, water in containers, cozy decorated in cabin style.
This is a place where you can get maximum peace and quiet, live in nature with a pleasant outdoor area, where you can fish, make a fire and eat outside. There is also a small balcony with a roof. (You can travel to Sarpsborg city center in 17 min, Oslo takes approx. 1.15 T. Grocery store can be found 10 min. From the site).

The cabin was built in 1943 and retains its original charm.
The cabin has been gently upgraded in the kitchen and furniture/interior. This is the place where you can completely unwind. The cabin has most of what you need for the kitchen, there are board games, wood for the fireplace and a warm atmosphere. For those who want to fish, this is also possible. A boat with outboard motor can be rented and used from your own owned pier. The owner brings water and firewood to the cabin.

Lavo

This is NOT an overnight stay, but a party place in the forest. The perfect place for a group of friends, a company party, an unusual wedding, an anniversary, a children's birthday party etc etc etc.

Lavvo with seating for about 40 people indoors. In addition, there is an outdoor long table with room for about 15-20 people. There is also a decent outhouse and a firewood shed that we make sure there is enough firewood in.

Parking lot with space for about 20 cars, at Furuholmveien 301. Just push up the barrier and park there, as this space is ours. Inside the parking lot there is a path/step up into the forest. Follow the path up the terrain for about 300 meters, and you will arrive at the lavvo. It's not that far, but it's relatively steep and a bit demanding.
